What happens after you cancel a paid job

Updated on 27 August 2026

When you cancel a job that a customer has already paid for, the system automatically starts a refund. It's important to understand the consequences before you cancel.

How refunds are processed

The money goes back to the payment method the customer used. For QRIS payments, the Yukser team handles the refund via bank transfer. How long it takes depends on the method and the bank.

The customer receives an automatic notification when the refund starts and when it goes through, so you don't need to contact them yourself about this.

Cancellation reason

When you cancel, you must choose a reason from the list (for example: location too far, equipment unavailable, urgent issue). The reason is not shown directly to the customer, but it is recorded by the Yukser team.

Impact on your account

Cancelling after payment has a bigger impact than a standard cancellation:

  • Your rating may drop, customers often leave a less favourable review
  • The matching algorithm temporarily lowers your priority for new orders
  • Repeated cancellations can lead to account suspension

Advice

Avoid cancelling after payment unless it is truly necessary. If something comes up (difficult location, extra materials needed, scheduling conflict), contact the customer via chat first, often the problem can be resolved without cancelling.
